PIAS module: Resistance
PIAS module Resistance contains a collection of empirical methods for the prediction of calm water resistance. Supported ship types are displacement, planing, pre-planing and barge-like. At the input side Resistance can derive the required hull shape parameters from PIAS’ hullform, while at the ouput side the resistance data can be transferred to PIAS’ propeller module. For the earliest design phase Resistance can also be used without any PIAS hullform being available.
