Keeping track of residue on tank bottom for tankers

We’re pleased to introduce a new feature tailored for tanker operations in LOCOPIAS: the Residue on Tank Bottom (RoB) Archive.

Over time, cargo tanks can accumulate sludge or solids—known as residue—which may reduce cargo capacity, impact product quality, and hinder inspections and maintenance. This new functionality provides a clear and efficient way to monitor and track RoB values across all tanks.

By integrating cargo data such as temperature and density (based on ASTM tables), as well as preheating temperature, users can now investigate the development and influencing factors of RoB over time.

Key functionalities include:

• Set and adjust RoB values per tank from a single overview
• Copy tank volume into RoB fields for quick initialization
• Manual entry and multi-tank selection supported
• Automatic alerts when RoB exceeds set thresholds
• Create and manage RoB archives with full tank data
• Export/import RoB files and generate historical reports with trend graphs

This feature enhances operational insight, supports better planning, and improves traceability of tank conditions.

This new addition to our software has been developed upon the desire of and in cooperation with Asphatrans, a subsidiary company of Reederei Jaegers.

The RoB Archive menu is now available — enabling a smarter and more structured approach to managing residues on board.
