By intelligently interpolating between known hydrodynamic data points, this module generates a real-time resistance–trim graph for the vessel’s current loading condition and speed. The result? A clear and accurate visual insight into how different trim angles affect your ship’s resistance through the water.

This resistance–trim graph updates instantly when speed or displacement changes, helping you make informed decisions on the go. For even deeper insight, additional lines can be shown to visualize how slight variations in displacement (±%) impact resistance — all easily controlled via settings or even your mouse scrollwheel.

When combined with the Ballast Advice module, LOCOPIAS becomes even more powerful: simply set your optimization goal to “minimal resistance,” and let the software calculate the ideal trim configuration automatically.
