Development: Layout module PIAS

SARC is involved in the national research program ‘Innovero’, which is aimed at research into and development of a distributed ship design platform. One of the focus points of Innovero is an improved collaboration between, or even integration of, analysis tools and generic CAD-systems. For that purpose a novel modeling method has been developed to represent the internal geometry of the ship, i.e. of compartments, bulkheads and decks.

This method has been implemented in a new PIAS module, which will replace PIAS’ present COMPART module, and which has been taken into the final testing phase at SARC in the spring of 2011.
